Summary for term 4

Athletic
In term 4 athletic. We had to do high jump, long jump, ball throw, 100 meters sprints and 200 meter sprints. In my 100 meter race I came 3rd and in my 200 meter race I came 1st so I went to finals. I  to wasn't supposed to do the 100 meters but my friend was not there for the finals so I had to fill in for her. When I did finals in the 100 meters I came last. But that was fine. For the 200 meter finals I think I tied in fourth place.

Culture city
In term 4 we did Culture city. In Culture city we did 4 countries so far. We did the cover page and we have done Thailand or Indian , Maasai or Egyptian, Maori or Aborigine, Mexican or Cuban those are the ones that we have done. I loved doing culture city It was so fun to do and find out more stuff about the countries.

Kapa Haka Festival

On the 20th November 2019 We were at the Turanganui Kapa Haka Festival. We were on our way to the showgrounds on the bus. When we got there we went and watched some Kapa Haka before it was our turn. We watched Wainui do their performance. When we left the hall we  were ready to go on the stage. I got butterflies in my stomach, when we were backstage but then I spotted my Nana and I smiled at her. We were on stage and Hunter started to sing. Then we did a couple more songs.
We did Utai Na then the boys did the Haka. While the boys did the Haka  the girls sang it with them. The girls came up to stand next to the boys and we sang Wainui E. We did the actions as well. To finish the Kapa Haka we did He Honore and we all left the stage.

At the end of Kapa Haka we went backstage and all our parents were there and they got photos. I got a photo with my friends. It was a really fun day. But sadly It was my last Kapa Haka festival at Wainui, maybe the next school I go to will do Kapa Haka.

Te-poho-o-Rawiri Marae

Last Thursday we went to the Te poho Rawiri Marae. We got welcomed on to the Marae. We also learned lots off history when we were there for two days.  There were lots of things to do for the rotations like Matua Nic did weaving. I leant some stuff about the Marae. There was a lot of history to the Marae like it had been moved from the wharf.

For dinner we had nachos. For dessert we had ice blocks and apples I liked the Marae but it was the sleep that was annoying. On Friday grope 6 went up the hill but we only went half way cause we had little kids. It was fun because it was our last rotations at the Marae.

Then when we had finished our dinner our parents came to the Marae and we did a performance. We had lots of fun and the games were so fun. I think that the parents liked our performance. Overall I liked it was so much fun.

Taha Whanau

This term we are learning about Hauora - our Health & Physical Well being. This is how I look after my body and relationships.

Social well being (taha whanau)

I like hanging out with my sisters and mum and dad. Dad and I read books,
mum and I ride horses together. I also like hanging out with my aunties and my
uncle and cousins. Sometimes they take us to parks.

Going to Visit family

When I go to visit family, we go on a plane and car rides. My family lives in
Australia, Masterton, Tauranga and Greece. When we are there we might go
swimming at the beach, or in a pool. Sometimes we can go on horse rides.
Sometimes we go out for dinner.

Friends

My friends we play games like we are animals in the zoo. We also might go for a swim at the beach, or in a pool. If we are having a good time we would ask the adults if we can have a sleepover.

Taha Tinana

Physical well being

I look after my Taha Tinana by signing up for netball and doing the training and
the games that we play. I also help my physical well being by going to dance.
For Taha Tinana I go swimming and do the training for safety.

Food and dinks

We can also take care of our body by eating healthy food, And not eating junk
food. Junk food is bad for you if you eat it every day. Water is good to drink.
To not help your Taha Tinana is eating bad food like this Sugary Drinks.
To be surprisingly correct that most pizza is bad for you.

 Sleepy Sleep

Sleep is good for your Tana Tinana. If you get lots of sleep you won’t be grumpy.
Sleep is good for getting energy.
